We hope everyone had a fun & safe holiday weekend!

The year is zooming by; and with Mother's Day, graduations, and summer vacations already here, we're hustling & bustling around the office!
Recently, I came across an article from earlier this year by INC.com, on Mindfulness and it's benefits to the practitioners. From reducing stress and anxiety, to simply living and enjoying the moment.

Ok, so do I just meditate? And how the in the world do I use this in my daily life?

This month, we'll explore some great Mindfulness tips for my fellow real estate colleagues on keeping your cool and enjoying life to it's fullest.

1) Breathe Out the Bad

Tough day? Ready to explode? Try this Sama Vritti exercise to reduce those feelings of anxiety and anger.

Find a comfy seat, close your eyes, and breath in deep for a count of 4. Then exhale deeply for the same count of 4. The goal is to extend the count to the highest number possible.





2) Stretch & Scan

Stretching can alleviate oodles of stress. Try a body scan exercise as well.

Sit or lay in a comfy spot, close your eyes, and start focusing on an area of your body, by flexing and relaxing them.

Start with your toes, then switching to your ankles, knees, and so on; until you get to the topof your head.



3) Put the Phone Down!

Try shutting of the phone when meeting with clients. Crazy idea right?!
Part of Mindfulness is living in the moment, and nothing takes us out of the moment more than our smart phones.

We're often waiting for something to come thru (i.e. an email/ text/ etc) when there is something or someone in front of us who deserves out attention wholeheartedly.





4) Taste Every Bite

Too often in our day, we find ourselves scarfing down our lunch or a quick snack just to getback to work. Not a healthy food relationship!
Next time, try a little bit of Mindful eating. The idea is to take a moment to savor every bite.
Close your eyes and really taste the creaminess of that guacamole, mmm! Think aboutwhere it came from and appreciate it.



5) Bless Others with Positivity

The beautiful part of practicing Mindfulness is it not only includes ourselves, but the immediate people around us in our everyday life.

Why not share the love?

Try to reach a goal of doing 1 selfless good deed a week. It could be as simple as buying a co-worker their favorite coffee before they get to the office, or as tough as taking that annoying cousin to the airport!
